Who we are
RESALE at joinresale.com and the RESALE mobile app are operated by Join Resale LLC, based in California, United States. Contact joinresale@gmail.com for privacy questions and requests. This notice describes the current local-pickup service.
Information we collect and why
We collect your email, account identifier, authentication information, display name, optional avatar and bio, and account preferences to create and secure your account. We collect listing text, photos, prices, favorites, offers, messages, meetup details, reviews and star ratings, purchase records, reports, blocking choices, and moderation records to provide the marketplace, connect members, prevent abuse, and resolve support requests. We collect the ZIP code you supply and its approximate city coordinates for nearby search; an exact meetup location is collected if you type it into a message or meetup proposal. Hosting and authentication providers process technical information such as IP addresses, device/browser information, request times, and error logs for service operation and security. If you enable notifications, we store a device/browser push subscription. New signup records include the policy version and your age/terms acknowledgment.
ID information and sensitive data
When you request ID review, we collect the legal first and last name you enter and a government ID image, which may contain your photograph, date of birth, address, document number, and expiration date. An authorized administrator manually compares your submitted name with the document. You may cover your ID number, address, and barcode before uploading; keep your name, photograph, and expiration date readable. Do not submit a Social Security card. We do not require a selfie or perform automated facial recognition. ID documents are kept in private storage and are not published to other members. See the ID Review & Retention Policy for details. Providing an ID is optional for browsing, but review is required for ordinary member posting and transaction features.
Who can see your information
Your display name, avatar, public profile details, ID-reviewed badge, and published listing details/photos and approximate location may be visible to other people, including signed-out visitors. Your public profile also shows the date you joined, the star ratings and written reviews other members leave about you, the reviews you write (with your display name), and your purchase history: items a seller has recorded you as buying or receiving in a trade. These are visible to anyone, including signed-out visitors. The seller of an item can change or remove its purchase record; to ask for a record to be removed from your profile, email joinresale@gmail.com. Avoid including private information in public content. Messages, offers, and meetup details are available to the conversation participants and may be accessed by authorized personnel for support, safety, or legal purposes. They are not end-to-end encrypted. Service providers process data needed to run their services: Supabase for accounts, database, and storage; Vercel for hosting and listing-screening infrastructure; Google/Gmail for account and support email; and browser push services for notifications. Listing text and photos may be sent through Vercel AI Gateway to Google’s Gemini model for automated content screening. ID images are not part of that listing-screening flow. ZIP lookups contact Zippopotam.us with the ZIP you enter. Google Fonts receives browser requests when web fonts load. These requests can expose technical data such as IP addresses to the receiving provider. We may disclose information when legally required or reasonably necessary to protect people, prevent fraud, enforce our terms, or complete a business transfer with appropriate protections.
Storage, tracking, and privacy signals
The app uses browser/device storage for sign-in sessions, recovery state, and local preferences. Clearing storage may sign you out. The current app does not include advertising pixels or cross-site advertising analytics, and we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not change essential service behavior in response to legacy Do Not Track signals. Global Privacy Control does not change our current no-sale/no-advertising-sharing practice. Third-party sites you choose to visit have their own practices.
Retention and deletion
Account and marketplace records are generally retained while your account exists so the service can operate. You can delete your account in Account settings, or request help at joinresale@gmail.com. The deletion process removes your account, profile, uploaded files, listings, and associated marketplace records from active systems, including affected conversations; this also affects the other conversation participant. See Account & Data Deletion for scope and limitations. Operational logs, email correspondence, backups, or records required for legal/security purposes may remain for the applicable provider retention period or as long as needed for those purposes, with restricted access. We do not promise immediate deletion from every backup or copies independently saved by other people. ID images have the shorter schedule described in the ID policy.
Your choices and California rights
You can edit your profile, change your location, manage blocked members, disable notifications, and delete your account in settings. For access, a copy of your information, correction, deletion, or other privacy requests, email joinresale@gmail.com from your account address. We may verify your identity using account information; do not email an ID image unless we arrange a secure method. An authorized agent may contact us with proof of authority. California residents may have additional rights under applicable law, including rights to know, correct, delete, opt out of sale/sharing, and limit certain uses of sensitive information, without unlawful discrimination. We honor rights that apply to our business and respond within applicable legal deadlines. Sensitive information is used for providing the requested service, security, and ID review, not advertising profiling.
Age, security, and changes
RESALE is for adults 18 and older and is not intended for children. If you believe a minor has submitted information, contact us so we can investigate and remove it as appropriate. We use access controls, private ID storage, and encrypted network connections, but no system can guarantee security. Data may be processed in the United States and other countries where service providers operate. We will post updates here with a revised date and provide additional notice or seek consent when required for material changes.
